it lookslike a carbon steel version or a very early model as I don't see any scalloping on the lower like we see today, more indicative of a carbon steel frame. the price is certainly right IMO>

Congratulations on your new gun. I just got the same one at my LGS for about the same price. I love the feel of this K9 with rubber grips. Can't wait to shoot it. We both got great deals.

'Zactly. Why don't all guns have rubber grips?

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if the Carbon steel K9s were being used by the NYPD in the 90tys. Why did the NYPD take the K9 off there duty carry list? Was it political or were they having issues?

Apparently Kahr couldn't make the triggerpull heavy enough to meet NYPD requirements. It was good enough from1998 to 2011!

I found this article on the NYPD K9 issue before I put mine in layaway. Congrats looks like you got great deal.

:behindsofa:read that article and I question the 12# glock NYPD trigger. In the glock perfection book that I have it shows two NYPD triggers. NY1 and NY2, both are 11#. one starts out at 5.5# trigger pull and ends at 11#, the nY2 trigger starts out at 7# and ends at 11#. I am not sure there was ever a NY glock trigger at 12#

very politcal IMO and when over 40K NY offiers are involved ANY gun maker will pull out all the stops to get all the business. Kahr probalby done the rigtht thing buy just pulling out. My understanding they were even supplying the NYPD with a fullt ime armorer and with 5k k9'S IN OFF duty mode, it was qa very expensive venture for Kahr to provide all these services. Makes u wonder how much Glock had to offer NYPD to get in the front door, no doubt in their contract full leather/nylon was provided along with free armorers service.:behindsofa:
