I sure do like that MK series kahr, the 40 cal is not my preference but the 9mm sure is and especilly since they left that slide in the blunt nose version and didn't extend it .20 of an inch like they did the PM9 PM40 and cm9 and cm40. U got a real nice gun there.

do the kahr prep and kahr lube chart thing and u will enjoy that first shoot, tread lightly with that 40 cal though, don't try to shoot 200 rounds at one sitting without takeing a good break in between time. A shooter will get tired and the 40 cal will get u there quicker to and then tha tis when issues arise that are not gun related. enjoy your first shoot, no rush to do anythibng other than break the gun in right and to learn the quirks of the gun. Remember a gun and a shooter must both mate up to work right.

Nice gun, really is..

Congrats! Looks nice and I'm sure it will shoot the same way. Been thinking of some grips for my MK9...we'll see. Post some pics when you get yours.

Great pistol! I got mine about three weeks ago and have become very fond of it. 178 rounds so far, and like all my Kahrs, not one problem. It has replaced my PM9 when weight isn't a factor.

I have an MK40 Elite 03 myself.
Other than an extended 400+ round break-in, the gun has been super.
It will feed anything and is surprisingly accurate for a 3" gun.
Plus the low bore axis really helps tame the recoil for follow-up shots.
I use Militec-1 as the lubricant.

Although the gun is small enough for pocket carry, I find it a bit heavy for that.
On a belt it's dreamy.
I like Galco's SB1.

Lot's of great SD ammo choices out there.
I generally run Speer GDHP 155 gr or Winchester Ranger T-Series 165 gr.
The Speer load is particularly hot.
Running ~1150 fps and 450 E from the 3" barrel!

Good luck and enjoy your new weapon.
The all stainless Kahr is a real work of art that will last you a lifetime.

I have both the mk9 & mk40 really like both of them. The 9 is a much softer shooter but you will get used to it. I put the pierce grip extension on both. They come two in a pack and the same one fits both. The grip screws will come loose when you shoot. I just use a dime to check them as I shoot. Never loctited them because I take them off to clean the gun thouroughly. I am curious as to your serial# to date mine. Mine is HA39** Got it in October but it sat in the store for a while. Since yours was ordered it is most likely new manufacture. Can you help me out? Thanks

You can call Kahr to get a build date. I bought mine on new 1/12/12, but it has an HA32xx SN and a 2/29/08 build date. It obviously sat somewhere for almost four years, but it doesn't matter to me. It still looks and runs perfectly.

O'Dell. I have wondered about the build date because I looked on line for new ones for sale and when possible would see the # to try to compare to mine. I guess they sit at Kahr until an order comes in and they grab one. I don't think the build date matters, just curious.

Like I said on another post my MK40 is now my favorite carry gun. I had mine Magnaported and recoil is no problem at all.

The real question is do you have any guns that aren't Magnaported??? LOL
Between you and Jocko I finally had to check this porting thingy out.
Not ready to punch holes in the slide though.
I special ordered a drop in extended, dual ported, Isonite QPQ coated,
357 Sig barrel for my Glock G27. Hoping the ports will tame the 1300 fps rocket launcher.

An MK40 is definitely cool. My LGS had one and I passed because 40 is not my favorite caliber, but then I got to thinking about how cool it would be to have a 40 in that version to replace the PM40 i recently sold to my buddy, and of course it was sold.

I'll grab the next one I see.

I have the MK40 and really like it since it fits in a pocket but has enough heft to be a solid shooter. Now get to crackin' and put some down range.:w00t:
