As long as you're using a reliable method, who cares? Just make sure the gun will feed with both methods and run the thing!

Keep in mind that the smaller and lighter your slide is, the more unreliable this will be. It is INCREDIBLY VITAL that you have strong mag springs and in spec recoil springs (and if applicable, trigger return and main spring) for a reliable gun - especially for fast reloads.
I'm anal retentive and replace all of my pistol springs (both gun and mags) once per year, and the followers if I notice any damage on them.
