Not approved for Calif sales. Think I should ask Kahr if this will change soon or is that a waste of time?

Maybe you can get a CW and fit a TP slide on it! Shorter grip, yes, but you can use the longer mags, and... you get the better sighting radius

TPs are hard to find in the first place, which I would assume means there are fewer produced compared to the P/PM/CW/CM...but that's just a guess on my part. As for fitting a tp slide on a CW frame, will not work. The CW and P frames are the same afaik and we were just discussing this in another thread and another member (ripley) tried it w/ his P9 and TP9, doesn't work due to the rail config/length.

Just my 2 cents.

sorry i never finished that first thought, i meant to say that because here seem to be so few TPs out there, unlikely kahr is planning a CA compliant version but it couldn't hurt to call and ask.

Here's one customized by C&S: http://www.gunsinternational.com/Kahr-TP45-Cylinder-Slide-Custom.cfm?gun_id=100230563

And one for a lot less in an inventory reduction sale:

how do I get it into CA? Buy it via parking lot sale in a state where that is legal then drive it home? I think that is illegal though.

trust me if u will, Ihave had my PM9 Cylinder and Slide custom worked on to over a grand and again trust ol jocko. they are way way way way over rated. I pissed away a grand on that gun, that anyone owning a kahr could do the same HIMSELF or actualy if u just shot the gun a 1000 rounds u will have damn near everything that C & Sw. could have done to ur kahr. Maybe they ca do wonders to other brands, but IMOthe Kahrs leave damn little that any customsmitty can do. Grip stippling is something that any smitty worth his salt csan do today, hell look at Bawanna's first veture, it is faboluus work.

Don't be fooled by the hame on the slide, now that being said if ur gonna die with it and want to sped all that money, C & S will certainly take it but don't expect a dime back in resale value. I was so so so disappointed and it took me 7 moths to the day to even get the un into C & S and I had to pay half up front 7 months in advance and then WAIT, and to top it off, they put my PM9 back together wrong, it would not workk I called them they picked it up and I got it back in a week and again the fokker would not work. finaly sent it to kahr with the bill of work they did and kahr put my PM9 back together correctly at no charge, so I know sometimes kahrs fixes guns and sends themback and indeed they are not fixed, trust me if u will C & S did it to mine twice. Now just how comp[licated are kahrs???? especialy if u advertise yourself as specialist for custom work on kahrs.. fool me once ur fault, fool me twice my fault.

I wonder if someone that had one and then moved to California had one for sale, then your parking lot deal would work. The chances of meeting that criteria are extremely limited but that would work. Private sales are still legal there aren't they?

If I had one and came down to visit Old Lincoln and decided while I was there to sell, that probably wouldn't be totally legal I don't think. Since I'm not a resident it would be a out of state transaction.

Now I'm wondering about out of state face to face deals. Hmmmm.

It would be too easy so it probably cannot be done in CA. How do private sales work in CA? I think an FFL is needed. Not sure what the state tracks in those states that allow private sales w/out in FFL transfer.

State doesn't track anything on private sales here in Washington. Most other states as well far as I know.

There are guidelines, people you can't sell to just like a shop, drug users, felons, jocko's, I mean wacko's, underage etc. But your also not required to ask in most cases, you just can't knowingly sell to unqualified folks.
