I got a chance to buy a Used MK9. I have a CM9 and I am getting hooked on these Kahr's. I already thinking of a PM45 but this MK9 came up. Serial # starts with GA. Anything I need to know about these older MK9. Thanks Guys! JIM

If you want the wood grips they won't fit, other than that minor thing they are great guns.

The GA series are the older mk's. Nothing wrong with them just letting you know.

I knew it was a older model. That was why I was concerned a bit. I did not know if the newer one was alot better or not. Thanks jim

I bought mine new about 10 months ago and can't say anything negative about it. Great shooting gun. I really don't know of any difference except some kind of frame change in the newer ones that's why the wood doesn't fit on the GA series and the trigger pull is 1/8 inch longer on non elite models.

Wood grips will fit with just a minor modification. All it takes is shaving a very small amount off the inside of the grip where the bottom screw hole is on the frame.

My mistake, minor modification with the GC serial.

I got my first all steel Kahr in January, a MK40. It has an HA SN and was born on February 29, 2008 [my birthday] although it was still NIB when i bought it. I think the MK series is great, and although Jocko says it will never happen, I would love to see a MK45.

It would be great to see a mk45 but with the craze for poly guns Kahr might feel that the cost of development isn't worth it for a relatively low appeal maybe niche gun. Both of my Kahrs are steel and I don't even own a poly gun which puts me in the minority. I suppose when I become tired of the extra weight I will (poly) get one.
