Greetings everyone. I just ran across this site. It's great to have our own forum. Since there doesn't seem to be a PM40 pic thread I thought I'd start one.

Here's my daily carry weapon:

How is the recoil? What is your choice of ammo, 135, 155, 165, or 180 grain? What type of holster do you carry it in? I think your pictured sealed it for me!!

Raoul, I have a question for you. I have been taking my 12M-pixel photos (Canon PowerShot SD780 IS) ~3MB and cropping them under Microsoft FAX/Picture viewer, or whatever, and then resizing them to 640x480 to give me the 97KB or so that the Upload manager supposedly limits jpg photos to. I have to save the file after each edit, between operations. Are the "limitations" loose or something? I see quite a bit larger and better looking hi-res files all of the time. What do you do to resize? I'm envious!

I'm a camera junkie too. I don't necessarily need the newest or the most expensive, but I've shot Canon for years, so I've got a lot of glass around. My carry camera is a Rebel XT. The 40D I use for special projects, the occasional wedding, graduation, concerts, etc.

Hey Wynn,
Are you storing the pics on the KT server? I typically keep my resoulution pretty high. That particular pic measures 960x671 pixels, or 4" x 2.8" , resolution is 240 and size is 315kb.
I don't store my pics on the KT server. I use a link to the pic instead and store them on a domain I keep.
You might think about setting up an account at one of the free image sites then your images can be a higher resolution.
Try looking at photobucket, snapfish, even photoshop.com.

Thanks, Raoul, for the info. I have used Yahoo's flickR a little, but I'm not sure about how to use it for this purpose. I guess that I could experiment.
Wynn:)

I have a Fuji 3-megapixel kind of SLR that I got in 2002 before my wife's folks' 25th Anniversary (Step-dad)-- it has a digital viewfinder, but it's the size of the analog SLR 35mm -- kind of clunky. I bought this sub-compact Canon SD780 IX (12MP). It has an optical viewfinder and takes HD video at 720P and 30 fps. I got this for my daughter's wedding last October. It's easy to use and I have been using it a lot to take pictures of guns, ammo, etc. This one fits in my pocket and I have it on a lanyard so I don't drop it. I was shooting and snapping pix at the range after each magazine or two, before patching the target up. I forgot a pen and paper -- in a hurry to try out the PM9! -- to document stuff. Got excited!
I love swapping pictures here... better than porn sites.:D And I love getting back into shooting. I really miss reloading, but it's impractical when you can't pick up brass at the indoor range and I can buy target ammo cheaper than I can buy used brass and make my own.
Thanks again.
Wynn:)
