For revolvers with period grips a Tyler T-Grip grip adapter is a great way to improve the feel and give a period look to your peice. Grip adapters have been around since the late 20s but were usually made of plastic. Mershon, Pachmayr, and S&W all made them. Tyler's are made from aluminum or brass, colors are black, brass or aluminum silver. I've had this one on a S&W M1937 (1917) ex Brazilian Navy gun for about 2 years and I really like it. The Tyler T-Grip have a small finger swell that was not present on earlier models but I find it fits my hand rather well. Here is the website: www.t-grips.com (http://www.t-grips.com) BTW, I'm just a happy customer, not connected to the company in any way.

Tyler had some problems in the last couple of years with slow shipping, but they seem to be back in business and shipping in a reasonable time.

I live in OKC where they are made and I've bought T-grips for years. The last few their customer service was horrible. Melvin Tyler would have rolled over in his grave.

I now use BK grips which is an outfit that went into business just because Tyler was doing so bad. Made out of different material but I like them better as they fit with a closer tolerance to my revolvers. BK also uses dual clips and they seem to be more secure with them. Here is their website http://bkgrips.com/ and a photo of my 442 with one on it. Most important - my order was here in less than a week.http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t201/IkenI_photo/008.jpg

Yup, bk has a great reputation over at the S&W forums. He's a regular there and seems like a really good guy.

I ordered some Tyler Ts for my 10-5 about a year an half ago. They took at least several months to arrive so I had pretty much given up by the time they came. I do like the way they look and feel, though.
