Greetings from PA. I'm a Smith guy, both revolvers and autos. But after much research and coming to terms with not enjoying the J-frame I've bought my first Kahr...a cm9. Only gun in my collection that is not a Smith. Here to learn more about what I have. I've learned a ton on the Smith forum so here I am!

Welcome! You will find quite a few S&W enthusiasts here too.

Be sure to visit the new member area to soak up some of the wisdom in the preparation threads there. Especially popular is: http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=14748

Welcome to the forum.

You can learn a lot about Kahr's here. As mentioned, do the initial prep and it will be time well spent. The cm9 is a nice semi-auto and will serve the role well for which you bought it for.

I have a J frame as well. It does not make it out of the house nearly as much any more, but don't take that to mean it's been relegated to the "safe queen" status either...

Welcome.
You've found the right place for all things Kahr.
And just a great place to hang out with good people.

I too have a weakness for S&W Revolvers...

Check out my Custom Mirror Polished CM9 (http://s1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee486/John_England/My%20Custom%20CM9/?albumview=slideshow)! My favorite carry holster for my CM9 is the PJ Holster IWB with Over the Belt Clip (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37). I'm a lefty and I wear it at about 8:00-8:30, where it is so comfortable that I cannot feel it or the gun there. It becomes one with my body, doesn't shift around when I move and so it just vanishes from my perception. I literally have to reach back there and touch the gun to know it is still there! Oh, and Coach Paul is a great guy to do business with. :yo:

I have a J frame - a 638 Airweight that I have had costomized with the frame reduced at the hammer shield a little to provide a better grasp of the hammer, the barrel ported, a trigger job that reduced the DA pull to 4.25 lb and a Gloss Black Duracoat finish. I love it! :)

That inexpensive Hogue Bantam one piece rubber grip is wonderful and, wonder of wonders, it clears speed loaders much better than the stock Unkle Mike's Boot Grips. This gun carrys very well AIWB. I came up with the concept and James Dean created this low riding, reverse canted, tuckable AIWB holster for it. Isn't it a beauty!

That rounded edge was my idea, so there are no corners to dig into my belly or leg.

For quick deployment in that AIWB position, I use a Stays-Put Ultra Pocket Holster (http://www.concealmentspecialties.com/products.html). Just slide it in there and go. And it stays put there all day long! Of course, it stays put in the pocket, too. Just $14.95 shipped! This has become my favorite carry package! :D
