I've looked on the site and I just don't see the difference in the T1 (http://www.auto-ordnance.com/Firearms/Thompson-T1.asp) and the T5 (http://www.auto-ordnance.com/Firearms/Thompson-T5.asp) can someone please enlighten me? Is it just the aluminum receiver? Does that make a lot of difference in the gun?

Aluminum or steel. It makes a big difference in the weight.

Look at the specs of each. It all has to do with the difference in weight.

They do make 10 round drum mags, surprisingly enough. They look the real deal but only hold 10.

I've only seen 20 round sticks, nothing less.

Hadn't thought of that though. I have a 50rd drum, 5 30rd sticks and 5 20 rd sticks. I better find some more.

Thanks for the wake up call.

In all the sadness and hopeless scenario's being played you light up my day Jocko. You have a way with words that just makes me think (probably incorrectly) that everything is gonna be ok.

Justin I just looked and the aluminum versus steel is the only difference I see. The way I read it they both accept stick or drum magazines, that's a big plus to me.

Personally I'd want the steel but they do weigh a ton. The aluminum would be a bunch lighter but I've heard rumors that they don't last as long.

I don't know if there's any truth to that or if the average guy would shoot enough to wear one out.

I got steel and would again but I doubt I'd wear one out.

I was wondering if the aluminum would wear out quicker, or if having the heft of steel would make the gun easier to dump faster, as it would help control the recoil more. The Steel is $150 or so more expensive, and I'm sure would give a more authentic feel to one.

It's a gun I've always wanted, I just love the way they look. My problem is not only would I pay the hefty price tag on one, but then I'd need another $200 to make it have the proper short barrel.

That's my deal too. I'd love to do the short barrel thing but I'm debating if the hassle is worth it.

Recoil is non existent. Even Aluminum I'm sure would be unnoticeable.

I seen a video of Jeff Cooper shooting one full auto kissing the butt plate.

It's a heavy beast but such a sweet thing too.
