Howdy from the land of cheese. I've recently purchased a P9 for myself, have about 200 rds through it. I've never really been a DA shooter at all, mostly 1911 and other SA variants... so just getting used to the trigger pull.

I also just ordered a CW9 for the wife, will pick up in a day or two. We purchased these for CCW... shot nearly every handgun we could get our hands on, and surprisingly, both landed on the Kahr. It's just the best combination of weight, size, comfort and recoil.

You may have already done this, but here's some info I threw together for new members, especially those new to Kahrs:

Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum supported by Kahr Arms.

Here are a few essential links and things to do BEFORE you take your new pistol to the range, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE taking it apart and trying to re-assemble it! The Kahr is a different design… 6-7 unique patents cover the Kahrs. I’m not trying to imply that you don’t know anything about guns, but many don’t know anything about the Kahrs and some of the things you can do to damage or cause malfunctions of your new, or new-to-you Kahr pistol.
First, if you don’t have a manual, yet, or one didn’t come with your pistol, you can download the pdf file here:
http://www.kahr.com/PDF/kahrmanual.pdf
Impatient? Watch one of these videos FIRST! These videos can point out possible problem areas and emphasize correct procedures!
Take down and re-assembly videos:
T, TP, CW, P, & PM/CM Series:

MK series:

K series:
http://www.kahr.com/Pistols/Kahr-K9-Elite.asp
There are many links on fixing problems listed in several places… under the New Member or Kahr Tech sub-forums.
A very handy one is the Kahr Lube Diagram:
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=14750
Many of your questions can be answered in these areas and you can learn how your Kahr works and not damage it with improper handling.
Frequently asked questions: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp?
There are many helpful members here most of the time who might be able to help you, but as anywhere, there are many opinions and not all are correct. Be mindful of this before doing anything drastic to modify your pistol!

Welcome to the forum. After you get both guns warmed up and are familiar with them you'll be able to answer the question for many of us... "is the P9 worth the extra money over the CW9?" Be sure to let us know your opinion. :typing:

Well, that's very subjective. There is a slight weight difference (P9 being lighter). In terms of shooting, and accuracy... No difference thus far. I have to admit my sole reason for the P9 was the aesthetics... I just prefer the all black look. My wife carries the CW9, and really didn't care about the stainless slide look.

Also worth noting... I broke in both pistols by putting at least 200 rds of target ammo through them (WWB, FMJ, 115gr), and did not have a single FTE or FTF. The P9, I literally pulled it out of the box, while the CW9 looked a bit drier, so I did quick strip, clean, lube before shooting it.

I then cleaned both, and put at least two mags of our SD ammo (Hornady Critical defense, 115gr) through them to ensure they fed OK; no issues at all.

Gonna try some 147gr Win Ranger ammo, and some Aguila 124 gr fmj target ammo this weekend.

Welcome, vanbo! :)

Do like all of us and order a 3-pack of 5 lb striker springs from Wolff's (who make the springs for all kahr pistols anyway). It makes that trigger pull about a lb lighter and seems even smoother. And, no, it won't cause light strikes.

Here is how to change them.
