Hello ,
just found this site, and new member

looking to replace a Kimber Solo ( does not go bang every time ) , and thinking of a Kahr.

what , besides $ 200 , is the difference between a CW ,P , CM 9 ..

I am going to get a sub compact , and do not want to have to go thru the Kimber frustration again..

thank you , in advance for your help and opinions.
Pat

Depends on what you're looking for. I wanted a small, light pocketable 9 so I got the CM9. If you want to have a fancier version of the CM buy the PM and you can dress it up the way you want. If you want a longer grip get the CW. I really like the compactness, accuracy and concealability of my CM

Welcome from wwest central Florida! The Kahr website will give you the specs/lowdown on each model. I'm relatively a new Kahr owner myself (bought a CW9) so I personally can't speak for the others in Kahr's 9mm family.

Welcome to the Kahrtalk forum supported by Kahr Arms.
Here are a few essential links and things to do BEFORE you take your new pistol to the range, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE taking it apart and trying to re-assemble it! The Kahr is a different design… 6-7 unique patents cover the Kahrs. I’m not trying to imply that you don’t know anything about guns, but many don’t know anything about the Kahrs and some of the things you can do to damage or cause malfunctions of your new, or new-to-you Kahr pistol.
First, if you don’t have a manual, yet, or one didn’t come with your pistol, you can download the pdf file here:
http://www.kahr.com/PDF/kahrmanual.pdf
Impatient? Watch one of these videos FIRST! These videos can point out possible problem areas and emphasize correct procedures!
Take down and re-assembly videos:

K series:

There are many links on fixing problems listed in several places… under the New Member or Kahr Tech sub-forums.
A very handy one is the Kahr Lube Diagram:

Many of your questions can be answered in these areas and you can learn how your Kahr works and not damage it with improper handling.
Frequently asked questions: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp?
There are many helpful members here most of the time who might be able to help you, but as anywhere, there are many opinions and not all are correct. Be mindful of this before doing anything drastic to modify your pistol!

Geobob, after reading the many posts, I am leaning towards the MK 9 ,

do you have a K9 ?

I have both the mk9 and the k9. I just got the k9 recently and it is a great little gun. I loved my mk9 too but after the k9, the mk9 mostly sits in the safe. To me, the extra handle length of the k9 didn't bother me much for CCW. I am just more accurate with the k9 and I like the extra round. I really don't think you could go wrong with either. It just depends on what you are looking for in your gun.
