I have always wanted a case feeder for my press, but my dillon square deal B won’t take a case feeder. Since I got this 20 years or so ago I’m not going to change now, but this got me thinking I have seen guys make these on youtube for presses. Well why not make a free standing case feeder so you don’t have to stage and set up cases, it puts the case is in the same spot all the time. I made the plate some time ago to fit the pail and then it sat for months. Recently my refrigerator took a crap and as I was getting rid of it I thought that the motor that was for the ice maker might be perfect for this so I saved it, the motor runs about 20 rpm. So last week I started on it again some trial and error was to be had on this but now it is up and running. It doesn’t look like much but man real sweet to use throw 4 hands of cases in it the motor comes to life and drops the case right in front of your hand. Got to say this makes reloading abit easier, right now doing 45's looks like it will work with 38's and 357 with no problem. Alittle more sanding and rounding off the edges a coat of paint it will look good but most important is that it works great

Excellent way to recycle that motor. My Father In-Law grew up on a small family farm and he kept all kinds of stuff around that looked like junk to most people but it was AMAZING how many things he made or repaired!
Great job....doing what you did must be very rewarding!

You sure put a lot of time and work into this project for a guy who is too, lazy to feed cases by hand. Go figure. :)

Do not take any of the posts as insults at all. We are all most amazed with what you came up with. At least I am!

I hope you didn't take my post as an insult. I'm impressed by your design as most of the posts are.

I like that sight hole in the PVC. Harrylee, you've got some talent. I'm trying to justify a reloading setup for .45 but the payback just isn't there yet for me. I have so little time to shoot lately that my stash will last 10 years.

Hey there, Mr. Lee!

As a reloader, I am impressed. I only load for my Garand mostly because pistol calibers involve larger numbers of cases and bullets to prepare, stage, and load. As a result, reliable and repeatable results with many small moving parts can be a challenge, especially for old f@rts like me who are easily distracted.

Your automation nicely improves the odds of 100% reliable reloads, which has to be the goal since my wife shoots too. That's another reason I stick to 30-06 for the Garand. :o

Nicely done, sir. Thanks for sharing. http://home.mindspring.com/~justsomeguy/thumbsup.gif

I looked for Harrylee's rig he made that showed what was going on inside a 8 round fully loaded 9mm magazine and what he did to fix all the issues.

I looked for the post but I can't find anything but that's normal for my life.

I thank you all for your responses, given and bad day and with a bad cold .I try not to be to sensitive. I want to bring to life the things we all can do if you just let your mind do the thinking. This is something I did to make my reloading a little easier and wanted to pass it on. There are so many things I do just for curiosity sake. I have figured out why my xdm was hanging up and not going into battery when bumped at the muzzle have corrected and have fixed that problem for anyone with issues that I will put a post on that. Listen I am not some engineer or anything like that I'm just a old carpenter that woodworking is my pleasure and I just like work on machines

That's why your stuff works. Sorry to any engineers out there but I spend all day reworking stuff that was engineered wrong and trying to explain to engineers why it's so.

As Jocko would say "Just sayin."
