Mounting optics on Desert Eagle 50AE

I'm interested in putting a red dot sight on my DE .50 (model XIX), but I'm afraid the harsh recoil will destroy the optics. Has anyone here had any experience with using red dot sights on a DE 50? If so, which kind did you go with...open reflex or magnified tube? Wont be doing much hunting (if any) with it...this is just for target.

I'm really interested in the Docter Red Dots...I just dont want to toss $400 out the window because the recoil is too violent for the sights.

In my very humble opinion, your DE50 is the worst possible candidate for any kind of optics. Be happy if your fixed iron sights stay put.

Never heard or considered it, never figured a second shot would be called for. Figured muzzle blast alone would take care of everything.

I got the firesights from there website , took them to my gun store and had there "gunsmith" install them,,, he broke the front sight! [emoji24]
