I love my PM40. I carry it more than anything else in my carry rotation. But why couldn't Kahr make a Colt New Agent sized 3" barrel 1911 style pistol? Same Kahr quality & reliability, just in a 1911 style. I'd certainly buy one.

My opinion is about the last thing the gun world needs is another manufacturer of 1911 .45s

I have been amazed at the continual and seemingly bottomless market for 1911s in the United States. I love them so am not complaining. More choices are always good. But it seems amazing that no matter how many companies make 1911s, shooters buy them. AR-15s seem to be the same way nowadays.

I agree with you John. I have never carried a 3 inch 1911 but wouldn't mind trying one.

I like 1911's, but I am more of a 10mm guy. I just don't see a lot of room for another 1911 maker, there are zillions now.

If the OP wants to look at a real 1911 that is somewhat similar to a KAHR in quality and value, I would suggest the Commander-sized CZ Dan Wesson CBOB. For about $1100 it is the best value in a 1911 going IMO. My brother carries the 10mm version. But it does weigh 37 oz unloaded. That diminishes its carry utility for me.

They do have a lighter, smaller COO (Officers) model now I believe. Could also meet the need.

Yeah its called a p45.

Sorry, it's a DA and not even close to a 1911 style.

My wife's favorite gun...dehorned and refinished Kimber ultracarry with slim grip panels. I built it for me but didn't mind when she appropriated it....that extra short barrel tends toward excessive/distracting muzzle blast. Went back to my LW Colt Officers ACP.

Kahr does make 1911's. Kinda. They're called Auto Ordnance.

I'm sorry but I really wish they would make a single action gun like a 1911 instead of DAO. I grew up shooting 1911's and can not get used to shooting the double action. Always low and to the left. Guess Ive got to shoot a lot more.

As Cineski indicated in a previous mail, Kahr does make a 1911 under the AO brand. I think you are referring to a 3 inch 1911 right? I would like to try one of those.

Actually, I looked at the 1911PG on Kahr's website. Although a full size gun it sure looks decent!
