Title says it all. Anyone pocket -jacket, coat, jeans -carry the CT380?

Looking for a dedicated pocket carry 380. Not sure if I'd like the CW or CT, and how they'd recoil.

I have the CW380. It pocket carries like nothing is there and I find it a soft shooter. Just bought and am selling and LCP II that is much less fun to shoot.

I have a BodyGuard 380. Not a very fun gun to shoot - but then no true pocket pistol is. I shoot it maybe once or twice a year to make sure it works. Need something I can practice with a little more and carry around more if I want. Even though the CW380 looks more like a pocket gun; I'd like some input on the CT380.

When looking for a new pocket carry I looked at the .380 Kahrs but instead went with the Beretta Pico. It's the same size but a bit thinner, a good quality for pocket guns. It has a DAO, hammer fired action, with a nice safe trigger. The gun feels a little odd in the hand but it shoots well, feels soft and has some good sights. You can also choose a laser integrated frame option if that's your desire. Beretta quality impressed me. So far it's been very reliable. A very nice pocket gun well worth a look.

With laser.

I like the CT380 because the longer grip fits my hand better than the Ruger LCP and shoots way easier - but it is noticeably bigger. Pocket carry it comfortably every day in a Remora.

OK, it sounded like you were looking for input on both.

That is correct. I have zero experience with the Kahr pistols. I've seen them in the display cases at various gun shops. So, yeah. I'll take input on both - but from what I see on YT videos, the CT380 might be better for me. And It would be perfect, if it was a pocket pistol.

Thanks. I hear reliability issues with this particular firearm. True?

Love my PX4 Storm.

No reliability issues in my experience after using every brand and type of ammo I had, (about 7 different ones). Beretta made several changes in 2015 and seems to have solved the original weak spots.

I looked at all the current offerings of small pocket guns and found the Pico had all of the features I wanted. It's a hammer fired DAO, which means I trust it more. It's the thinnest .380 currently available. I trust Beretta quality. It has good sights. Take down is really simple and fast. the interchangeable frames and the method that allows it is pretty cool. Beretta had a sale on the laser frame so I bought one to go with the non-laser frame the gun came with. It fits in a Remora pocket holster. After carrying a Seecamp for many years, the Beretta is a bit bigger but still small , especially compared to other .380s. I like it.

I use an Uncle George's Wallet holster with my CW380. Perfect for pocket carry.

Kind of like the looks of that Pico, never seen one before. Looks good with or without the laser although I tend to lean towards without. You know looking cool is so important to me.
Sadly I doubt they make that in a 45 so guess I won't add it to the list. So many guns, so little time.

CT380 is a dream to shoot, easy on the hand, conceals well in front pocket, and totally reliable. I've owned dozens of semi-autos, including many high end models, and I now own two Kahrs, and they are the easiest recoiling guns I have shot. I have owned several different .380s, including a couple of Walther PPKs models, and they hurt my hand to shoot, being fixed barrels and blowback action. The Kahr CT380 and all the Kahrs are locked breeches and very easy recoil and very manageable. I also have a CT-9 and it and the CT380 are simple, and totally reliable. I have added Talon grip tape to both and it is well worth the small expense, and with the CT380, I added Mag-guts springs and followers to both my CT380 magazines and they now hold 8 rounds instead of 7....with one in the chamber, this neat little pocket .380 now holds NINE rounds. My CT380 is the Limited Tungsten finish, which comes with two magazines in a nice hinged box instead of the regular cardboard box. I would not hesitate to buy these Kahrs again. I prefer the CT380 over the CW380 because it has a longer grip that takes all three fingers, holds one extra round over the CW380, and an extra half inch longer barrel, all of which make the CT380 easier to shoot and more accurate with the longer sighting plane, a bit higher velocity, and yet it still conceals perfectly in a font pants pocket with a pocket holster. To me, the CT380 is just a bit more practical carry and self defense gun and I also plan on adding night sights to it to make it complete.

The only real reason to carry a 380 instead of a larger caliber is for a smaller physical size pistol.

If I am going to carry something the size of a CT380 (5.52" long and 4.4" high), it will be a 9mm (PM9 or CM9, 5.42 long and 4.0 high) or a .40 (PM40 or CM40, 5.47" long and 4.0" high ). Even a .45 (PM45 or CM45, 5.79" long and 4.49" high) is only slightly larger than a CT380.

I own and regularly carry a P380, but it is because the uniform of the day in Atlanta is shorts and a t-shirt for most of the year and small overall size is important for concealment.

Just my opinion, YMMV.

Another option for cargo pockets.

I hear what you are saying, but my PM9 was just a bit too thick to pocket carry for my comfort.

I like my CT380, but rarely pocket carry it. Pockets are reserved for the even smaller TCP or NAA Mini. I carry my CT380 IWB. The thin profile makes it easy for those days when dress dictates small. It literally disappears. My EDC is the CW45, which is just about, but not quite, as good at dissapearing.

Understood that thin is important for some people.

FOR ME, the critical factor for pocket carry is total weight.

My loaded P380 in a Recluse OS holster weighs 15.90 ounces. My loaded CM9 in a Recluse OS holster weighs 22.44 ounces. Both rigs fit nicely in a pocket (usually a cargo pocket for me). I don't notice the 15.90 ounces in a pocket, but the 22.44 ounces feels like I am carrying a brick.

FWIW, the CM9 in a Foxx OWB hybrid holster (21.90 ounces) does not seem heavy at all.
