Factory stainless steel finish

Does anyone know how MRI puts the final finish on the stainless steel models? Is it an ultra fine belt sander or polishing wheel with coarse grit? My DE50SRMB has a minor scuff that I'd like to fix but I don't plan to go bananas and polish the whole thing. I'd like to keep the finish looking as close to original as possible.
