I have a 1911 and have had it for about 3 years. I have also sold quite a few of these. I love the way it always responds faithfully every time I use it. I do have a question though. Has anyone noticed that the Parkerizing wears off verry quickly when used in a retention style holster? ie: RSR, Serpa and that type, and is their a reason the Parkerizing is so light on the weapon as not to take much to have it come off? I have had to re-parkerize mine already and wondered if their was something to prevent this. I use mine as my daily Concealed Carry Weapon. :D

I hate to say it but you may have to resort to a harder finish. I have had similar experiences and either just learned to like the "loved", worn look or had a coating applied. NP3 works very well. Of course there are many choices. One of my guns has one of the cheaper synthetic finishes applied locally that has held up very well.
