Any way to upgrade to a shorter trigger. I'm sure a lot of you agree that this isn't the best gun for the range, without some practice. I'm coming from a walther p99 quick action, so I'm much better with shorter triggers. My serial # starts with GC, maybe there is a year that had shorter triggers?

None. They are all basically the same and always have been. Long, smooth almost revolver like triggers. At present there is no upgrade or improvement and most who are used to them like them as they are. They do take some getting used to.

I was switching from Kahr to 1911 today at the range and it was a challenge for sure. From bang, bang, bang to come on baby fire, anytime now, I know we're getting close. Still hit pretty respectably all thing considered.

should I be using the last joint on my finger to pull the trigger?

I usually still try to use the pad of my finger but I do sometimes use the first joint also. Seem like when I'm trying to shoot fast I go the joint, when I'm striving for tight groups I use the pad.
I remind myself that these are defense guns and not match target guns. They are amazingly accurate as proven by many many pictures here of targets shot. I'm quite impressed with my PM45 for accuracy when I do my part.
Of course your methods may work better for you. We each have to figure out what works for us.

also, there's a 1mm space between the body of the gun, and the magazine bottom. The magazine can be pushed up all the way, but it'll go back to the 1mm gap position

Thats normal and the subject of a multitude of complaints. No good explanation.

False.

1mm gap allows for the magazine to be garanteed to be caught by the mag catch when inserted. The notch bypasses the catch by 1mm, ensuring that you don't fubar the reload.

Ya'll are way too picky :)

Maybe you should grip the pistol harder and keep the frame from wiggling around in your hand :19:

no I meant that sometimes my skin will go between the small space between the mag and the body, and the up-down play in the magazine can pinch it. Definitely not a big deal, but I wanted to know if its an easy fix

I know what you're refering to - I'm saying that if you hold it as hard as you should, the frame will stay pretty still in your hand, making it extremly unlikely to get pinched ;)
