We talked about box types a while back and some liked flip and others slip. I leaned toward the slip top because of issues with the flip top breaking at the plastic hing and not staying open, etc. Because of cost I bought the foam boxes.

A few minutes ago I came across the F&M Ammo Boxes (http://www.fmreloading.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=FMR&Category_Code=Ammo+Boxes) that appear to solve the problems of the flip top. It appears to be plastic and hinged, but with a real hinge not the plastic tab you bend. The literature I found states it stays open and is rugged. At $3 and cheap shipping I may get some "some day".

Wow OL, those look pretty good. I see they have 50 rounders on page 2 for 1.50 also, so it's about the same price per 50.
I'd probably go the 50 I think, I hate partial boxes left over so if I need to leave the range or what ever it's easier to burn thru 50.

Course guess it wouldn't hurt to get both. You guys are a bad influence on me. Always giving me the wants.

I've seen those somewhere in a store. Can't remember exactly where though since I make it a habit to stop in just about any gun or reloading shop that I pass. Looks like they would work pretty good and they are the same or close to the same price as the mtm.

And shipping is a flat $10 for to $100 in merchandise. You can get 60 50rd boxes and shipping for $100.

Woh, that's enough boxes for 3,000 rounds of ammo. Not sure I'd either want to reload that many without shooting, have that much laying around or find a good place to store it!

My point was up to $100 and shipping is still $10. It could be any merchandise.

Today I went into my reloading store and bought a few similar boxes made by MTM (http://www.mtmcase-gard.com/products/handgun/ammo-boxes-handgun-p-100.html). They are hinged and open well and have a solid closure latch. I picked up 3 ea 9mm & 45 of the 100 count.

Point taken!

I've got a few of the mtm boxes as well. Also the ones with the "continuous" plastic hindge. Usually have to lay a few rounds on them to keep them open.

The government makes and sells them. Cost is about 5 dollars surplus. Look for 30 cal ammo cans.
