Loaded up 50 rounds of 9 mm 125 gr RNL at 1.125 OAL with the recommended starting load of 3.9 grains of HP38 yesterday and 100 rounds of my ususal load of 4.2 or 4.3 gr HP 38 (kind of the spread using the auto disk).

Shot all today and was very happy with the accuracy of the 3.9 grain loading (2 1/2 to 3" max group size and a lot of tearing out the center shots). Gun ran great (as usual) with the lower grain loading and way more accurate than the 4.2/4.3 load. So now, the 3.9 is what I'll be loading again in the future. :D

Now if my new grips for the SP 101 come in, I'll be real happy.

So what gun did you use to shoot this load?
Who's bullets?
Do you have an SP101 in 9mm?
I recall reading that Ruger had made a 9mm SP101 for a while.

Tilos,

Shot them in the CW9 and also my CZ Phantom.
Bullets are from a local supplier here in Houston - Friendswood Bullet Co.
BHN are 18.
My SP 101 is the 3" 357. Ruger did make an SP101 in 9 mm and they are hard to find now. Almost as scarce as the SP101 in 22 lr.

This is not a "snappy" load but is easy to shoot well due to lesser recoil. More of a target load.

Thanks...one more question.
Does that 3.9 load shoot to point of aim out of the CW9?

Tilos,

Seems to shoot to POA out of both guns. As mentioned kept all shots in a 3" group at 10 yards. Smaller group using the CZ but that gun has a 5" barrell and is also Single Action Semi Auto. Biggest problem is that I only made up 50 rounds of this load as it was an experiment to see if it would run the slides on both of the pistols. It did run them very well and ejection was pretty positive.

Like shooting the 9 mm but don't like chasing down the cases. Need to figure out a load that will run the slide, and eject with just enough force to bounce off the divider screen into my "empties bag". LOL

Darn, that reminds me. I got to get the brass out of the tumbler!
