After a not-so-great experience with a bad mojo PM40, I was back on the hunt for the right CCW
Up until last night I was unaware of what the Kahr P/CW line was....I figured why even look, thinking that Kahr pistols would just get fatter and clunkier as they went up in size from the PMs.
Was I wrong, the P/CW are sleek and trim with great balance. I put the P9 side by side with my interim CCW Taurus PT709 Slim and dimensionally there is no difference. After I tried a P9 on for size and fit about a million times, I was sweating how to come up with the extra $$ since the P9s' were way more than I planed to spend. I had two to choose from a SS with standard sights for ~$640 and a sweet blackSS with night sights at $760 :(
Both were more than I can swing, I was about to run when someone took pity and told me to go look up the CW9...
I called back and ordered one this morning :)

a very wise choice and especially now since kahr is also making available night sights for the cw series.

I need to recover some funds after the purchase of this pistol, but the Tritium's are going on sooner or later ;)

I looked at the P9 as well and the price was too far out there. I sold some glock stuff to fund the sights.

I'm tyring to find a IWB set-up but they range from $60 + for the good stuff. That'll have to wait

I'll use a Desantis Pro Stealth (#N87BJE1Z0 Black fits SIG:P239; S&W: 945-1GLOCK: 26, 27, 29, 30, 33)
The CW fit nicely(I bought it for the Taurus PT709 Slim) at $25 locally

I just picked up a slightly used P9 on Gunbroker for $457. Black slide, fixed sights. Have not shot it yet, hopefully tomorrow. If you are not in a hurry good deals come along. I lucked out & just stumbled on to this one. My reports on the Taurus 709 are hit & miss. The gun shop by the house has sold 12 and has taken 2 back for serious problems. I have a K9 & P9 Covert that have performed great, so I am hoping more of the same.

I know it's a matter of personal preference, but unless you have really fat fingers, you might enjoy your Hogue Handall Junior more if you put it on the other way. YMMV

I have too admit....it is a nicer fit with the "angle side" down.
never given these much thought thought, just wrestle them on and adjust to a decent position....I now see that there was more too it

I tried to put a JR. on my CW45, struggled with it for awhile and finally had to get the wife to put it on for me.
These things are worse than trying to get magazine springs back in..:p

on getting any magazine spring back in easier and safer. Push that magazine spring in as far as u can with your fingers from the bottom,,,, then insert a nail through the last hole in the magaziner. This will lock about 75% of the spring where as you can easily then install the floor plate and not worry about it flying all over hell's half acre.

pretty gun, I actually like the front of the CW better than the P9:( the P9 has a "boxy" look

Yeah, I do the nail bit..like you do a 1911 mag.
It seems like the 40cal mag. springs are the worst for me.
Those things must be 4 ft. long and they'll put a whuppin on you if they get loose. :blushing:

Had the CW9 out for its brake-in run tonight.
The verdict is....100% reliability out of the box.

50r of WWB 115g FMJ, then 100r of PMC Bronze 115g FMJ and then 25r of the Federal Hy-Shok 115g HP I carry.
The first 50 were slow fired. After that I started adding double-taps and built up to rapid fire full mags. Not even a hint of an issue.
Accuracy is good, I do have some practicing to do, the CW is still a small gun and doesn't point as naturally as my Sig 2022 but I do like its handling, its a pleasure to shoot and.... how the hell does Kahr get their DA triggers so damn smooth?? :)
