I like the two items below as seen in the Defensive Carry Forum. The [OP] shows on each post by the OP in that thread. The "Started by" info in the forum threads view. I'm thinking they are pretty standard vBulletin options but not positive. I know you must be especially busy about now, but can you put these on your list? BNe greast if you had a vBulletin expert on board (forum member) to do this kind of stuff. BTW, I'm not one.

I kind of thought that was what pops up when you hit the new posts button. Under the thread title is the name of who started it and to the right was when, including the time as well as the last commentator and the date/time they posted.

I saw this in one of the threads. Was food for thought:

Dont Blame Liberals For Gun Control

I don't see that in this forum. What I see is this:

Sticky: Forum House Rules (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1) admin

What I'm looking for is this:

Also when opening the thread I see this:
Brittanyman (http://kahrtalk.com/member.php?u=6849) http://kahrtalk.com/images/tigra/statusicon/user_offline.gif

I'd like to see this - Note the [OP]:
Budman233 (http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum/members/budman233.html) [OP]

If you see something different please tell me how to view it.

I think that when you view the lists or as I do click the new posts button, you get what I see (sorry not as computer literate as to be able to take screen shots, and post them) I see the thread title, directly underneath it who started it as well as when , the off to the right I see the last poster and when they did it. When I first log in I see the recent posts with this information, and when I click on the new posts button, it shows the same. Wait one and I will see if I can find a pertinent setting for this.

Which browser are you using?

I'm using Firefox 7.0 and see this fine in the Defensive Carry Forum. Here is what I see on the new post search:

That's strange, I see that and the time stamp. Best thing I can suggest is to go through your settings, I didn't find anything when I looked at mine, but maybe I missed something. You could also send a pm to the big boss (JohnH) see what he says. My apologies for not being able to help here.

I may be mistaken, but I think OldLincoln may not be getting his point across. I also frequent DC dot com, and know exactly what he is referring to.

If you look at the "cut n paste" he did of the very first example post he showed, you will note that in the thread itself is where the [OP] tag shows up... beside the OP's name.... and every post within the thread the bright colored tag [OP] shows up beside the thread originator's name. This helps keep track of responses made by the "OP" while browsing the thread... without having to go to the forum index to figure out who started it.

It's a pretty handy feature, I think.

Surv, do you see the data & time stamp in the thread listings here?

I found the link I posted on the 2nd link on the original post, how to conceal a 1911. On that link I could read all the posts. The other link just took me to a log in page. That was using Internet Explorer Version 9, which I do NOT recommend. It seems like a work in progress to me. Not quite ready for the public.

Firefox 7.0?? What OS are you running. I'm on 6.0 and there aren't any updates higher for me??

I think they are rolling the betas out gradually to limit the pain if one goes bad. I'm on auto updates so they gust appear when I turn on the computer. It is not so good though getting the newest and all the extensions are disabled. About the time they catch up a newer version appears.

I'm running XP Pro. My PC doesn't support all the RAM needed for the new OS. I only have 1GB and don't run many overlapping apps. I can't even upgrade to a new video card without an express slot. But it is dependable and okay for the internet.

I'm running essentially XP Pro... it's the 2005 Media Edition, fully updated and I'm on Firefox 6.0, updated, and I just went to the site and this is the latest. I'm on auto updates, too. I was just wondering... I've been having a lot of problems with reboots and stuff. I unplugged my UPS USB connection so it couldn't turn the danrned PC off any more!
I refuse to use Explorer, though I do run Outlook... not Express. Sometime I have trouble with uploading any photos using 6.0, though. The next day it will be fine....???
I think with the software update here, the image handling changed a bunch or I exceeded a limit for being able to upload pictures. I used to be able to upload the 97.7KB ~640x480 pictures which were enough resolution, but now the site software won't allow but about 1/5 that. Something sure changed, but I upgraded my Photobucket and try to use that now.

I am on Firefox 6.0, auto updates. Recently updated and made a lot of my extensions incompatible. This version is a bad one; slow as a slug and simply won't load a lot of pages. If I load the same pages in Explorer, they load in a snap. I am about ready to switch to Explorer as primary for a while and wait for them to get their act together.

Wynn, Yes the pic attachment feature has definitely changed. John was going to try and fix that but it must be difficult. I use Photobucket as do a lot of folks here, but John also set up a pic server for Kahrtalk which is a possibility.

JFootin, Firefox provides for you to step back to an earlier stable version. I know FF is a hog but IE is at least as bad. I've thought about stepping back but I don't know if all the updated add-ins & extensions are backward compatible.

My pain with FF is it refuses to open in monitor #2. Up to vr 4.n it remembered where it was closed are opened there, now it's always in #1. Same for "normal" size. It remembers within a session but not on re-opening. I suppose I need to do a new profile but haven't been in the mood for that.

I've had two-monitor capability but never used it until recently. I activated it a few months ago, but hadn't tried using the other TV/monitor with it.

I started having problems with losing my cursor off the screen. I tested moving the mouse and noticed that the cursor couldn't leave the screen on the top, bottom, or the left side... just the right and it seemed to really keep moving to the right, requiring several sweeps to the left to get back onscreen. Ding! Light bulb over head!

I turned on the other TV monitor (my "old" 23" HDTV/monitor) and selected DVI input... my newer video card, I chose with two DVI outlets and my newer monitor has HDMI and DVI IN, so both monitors are fed by the add-on card. I tested the video and had the ID monitor clicked and saw an empty Desktop on the right monitor. I was trying to get stuff over there and realized that the mouse could go over there, so maybe I could drag stuff over there. I minimized Firefox and dragged it over there and then restored the full-sized... voilą! There it was. I closed Firefox and then opened it again and it was on the right monitor.
I also opened a second Firefox and have it on my PC monitor. My onboard video has the same capability and will probably serve another two monitors, but I haven't tried that at the same time. I haven't tried closing both open Firefoxes and checking if they both come back in the same location as they were closed.

Wynn:)
