All averages of 5 rounds: ProChrono - Different days and ambient temperatures, but all shot after carrying the pistol and ammo in the left front pants pocket for a while to emulate real conditions. All were shot starting with the barrel at ambient temperature.

Some day I'll do them all on the same day to get the ambient temperature variable out of the equation.

Corbon +P 90 grain JHP - 945 fps / 179 ft/lbs
Speer Gold Dot 90 grain JHP - 877 fps / 155 ft/lbs
Winchester Ranger 95 grain JHP - 877 fps / 163 ft/lbs
Aguila 90 grain JHP - 845 fps / 143 ft/lbs
Federal 90 grain HS JHP - 870 fps / 152 ft/lbs

Looks strange that the Speer and Winchester loads rang up the same average velocity, but that's the way it happened.

The muzzle energy (ft/lbs) is pretty meaningless in the .380 but is there as a reference.

I currently only carry the Corbon load in my P380, as it seems to like a load with plenty of oompah. I have also never had a problem with the Speer Gold Dot 90 grain load in the P380, but now that I have the Corbon, reserve that and the others for my LCP and BG380, which are not tempermental about ammo at all.
