Back in the day, we used to help the grip on our .45's in the Army by screwing a small piece of 220 grit wetsand black paper between the grip and frame, wrapping around the front of the grip. Anyone tried this on the metal framed Kahr? I have a K40 Covert that needs a little help, I believe.

Any other "secrets" to improving the grip? How about those beautiful wood checkered grips I see, where can I get a set economically?

Thanks in adnavce.

I've seen guys use the rubbery skate board tape on the front strap. I think the sticky sand paper would probably work well too.

If I ever get the models figured out you shall have checkered grips. Economical is my middle name.

I admire that middle name.

I filed some horizontal grooves on the frontstraps of my MK9 and K40 Covert. Works very well, but probably doesn't help the resale value. But I don't plan on selling them, I plan on shooting them.
