Another newbie from Ohio
Hi folks. I bought a new CW40 a few days ago. I have read a few dozen threads here and appreciate your collective wisdom.
I have a newbie question. I have broken down and reassembled the CW40 a couple of times, and I had a very tough time compressing the recoil spring enough to get the guide rod and spring back in place. This may just be due to a combination of unfamiliarity and weak hands. Does anyone have any tips to offer?
Thanks,
Tim

1) it gets easier with use/teardowns
2) make sure you put the open end of the spring at the muzzle end of the gun
3) I used a chopstick or something similar: stick it through the slide muzzle end and thread it through the inside of the spring up to the guide rod. This merely helps keep the spring straight so it won't kink when I'm pushing really hard on it.
Welcome.

Thanks, guys.
b4uqzme, I will try a small dowel. I think that will solve the main problem I'm having.

This place is getting so full of Buckeyes that I may have to move to Michigan. :) Welcome aboard, Crotalus
