This is a modification I do on just about all slide stops as it allows easy installation and doesn't affect function. It is easily done with a needle file. To install, the slide stop is positioned directly on top of the plunger and you can feel it saddle over it and push it straight in. Bingo!

I keep meaning to do that to a few of mine. I'll use this as an incentive to move it closer to the top of the list.

Have to make a shout out to The Finer Grain - Sarge's Grips.
It's a single guy, hand making some outstanding handgun grips.
My Honduran V-Bob grips are amazing.

I know the DW is no Wilson Combat, Ed Brown or Nighthawk.
But damn, it's dead sexy and is All Aces in my book :cool:

Also my 12 mags; Tripp Cobra, Wilson Combat ETM HD and DW branded Checkmate - have all been flawless.
For some reason I'm running the Tripp Cobra flush 7 rounder in the gun and twin Wilson ETM 8 rounders as reloads.

I finally got around to doing a little cosmetic metal work on my RIA 1911FS in 9mm. Some filing/sanding/blasting, then a dip in the parkerizing pot, and it was ready for some VZ grips I picked up on Ebay:

Are the Rocks cut for Novak Low Mounts or you have to do that.

This model come with those sights (here's a link to the current version of this model). The sights are in the style of Novak, but the front sight is cut a little differently (deeper dovetail); I'm not sure if the rear is cut differently.

Figure I should add a picture of my first 1911. Remington R1 Enhanced. I've owned a Browning Hi Power in the past, and I finally broke down and had to see what this 1911 fuss is all about. This is a sweet shooter. Real nice trigger pull and everything. Think I got a pretty good deal on it too. Sorry to say, I've been shooting it a bit more than my Kahr lately, although the Kahr still gets out to play every range session.

Very nice. My son has the enhanced, I got the plain model which I wanted since I had others with all the goodies. Both are great guns and shooters.
