Try practicing dry firing with an empty shell case balanced on the slide. The long but smooth trigger pull takes practice to master.
For carry ammo, try a Hornady bullet (Critical Duty or Critical Defense) which is very conical compared to other manufacturers. I had to sand off some of the slide stop on two CW40s, which fixed it....
+1,000 My arthritic wife loads as fast as she can pick up the next round with zero pain or problems.
The good: got to a range today: 50 rounds at 7yds with my CW40. Outer black circle is 7" diameter. Worked on a smooth trigger pull lasting about 1/4 second and keeping the dominant eye focused on the...
Lock open the slide. Slowly insert a loaded magazine. Look down into the left side of the breach as the top bullet comes up. If it touches or comes close to any part of the slide stop, that is most...
Two things.
Varying practice distance helps a lot with shorter range accuracy and consistency. Longer distances quickly point out errors.
Not all scenarios are close range. Our house floor...
+1 Exactly.
+1 Smooth trigger pull/press plus looking at the front sight instead of the target really improved my accuracy. I started out dry fire practicing a slow trigger pull over 1 second. After getting...
Unless the sights are off center, which is possible but unlikely, I'd wager that it's a shooter issue. Kahr's trigger takes getting used to. Practice a smooth, steady trigger pull keeping the rest of...
Glad you and your pistol are doing well. As for accuracy, mine took a quantum jump for the better after reading Massad Ayoob's article on pistol shooting:...
For carry, I load what goes bang every single time with zero problems (Hornady Critical Duty). You'll have to find out what your pistol likes best.
For the range, any factory reload that is cheap...
Glad your PM9 is running well. 400 rounds in one session is a bunch. As for shooting low left, as you get comfortable with the Kahr trigger it will shoot as aimed. Forget looking for the break. Just...
Each state is different. WA state law requires carrying your concealed pistol license when carrying concealed or having a loaded pistol in a vehicle. So I would not carry concealed with an expired...
John, thanks for posting the vid. Agree with the point made that Kahr accuracy is good. I don't notice much difference in accuracy between my CW40 and S&W M&P 40 Pro 5" barrel out to 50'.
I feel your pain. Had a daylight home breakin in 1993 by "friends" of our youngest son who cased the house during a visit. Insurance payment was $18,000, but it wrecked my wife for years.
Make...
I've fired about 300 rounds of Freedom Munitions FMJ factory reloads in my CW40 with zero issues. Also had flawless experience with www.LAXammo.com FMJ reloads in 40S&W and 9mm. I buy from both...
Luv my HiPoint 40S&W carbine. Goes bang every single time. Fun to shoot. LIFETIME factory warranty. Made in the USA. For the visually needy, here's a pic of initial sighting in:
+1 I shoot my CW40 nearly as accurately as my S&W M&P 40 5" barrel. Not that I'm a tack driver, but it's good to know there's not much difference in accuracy between the two pistols. Just adjusting...
Unless the perp was shooting at you first and still trying.
Thanks, muggsy. None from that lot here.
Wonderful young man. And his parents have done well.
Great post. Thanks.
I don't believe for a moment that the Costco sign means only open carry prohibited. Co-founder, recently ex-CEO and still major shareholder had his buddy Obama to his house in Seattle area last week...
Satisfying that the good gal won, but she should have let the perp come in through her door and then shot him inside. Shooting through a door killing a person outside the house is too gray a legal...
