I have an early model LCP (after the the first fixes they issues) and a CW380.
The LCP trigger is awful/rough to use and it affects my accuracy. However; it never had a problem with any ammo and...
This mirror's my experience so far with my CW380. Mine has been back twice to Kahr due to FTF/FTE issues before I felt comfortable with it. With about 1200 rounds on it now it is the best .380 I've...
I have the my slides cerakoted on my CW380 and CM9 and I haven't noticed any negative effects from using brakekleen on them; though I do avoid bathing them in it.
I liked the Talon grips on my CW380 but I went through a few as even a bit of solvent on them and they are ruined; tough to do when you clean your gun after each range visit.
I am now considering...
I find that when I take my CW380 to the range that when I have light primer strikes and FTF issues it occurs at around the 50+ round count. I think it gets fairly dirty from the ammo I use and I...
My first 380 was a Diamondback DB380. It was a jam-o-matic POS from day one. One trip back to the manufacturer and it was still the worst pistol I've owned. Gave it to a friend and I don't know what...
I had my CM9 and CW380 both cerakoted in black.
I initially wanted the PM9 and P380 in black; but glad I didn't pay the extra coin just to get an all black pistol.
I have a CM9 with 1100 rounds through it. It's been great so far.
I've had maybe 2 or 3 light primer strikes in 1100 rounds; which would seem to indicate it was the ammo not the gun.
Just as you mentioned; my LCP has been 100% over 300+rounds but it's awful/stings to shoot. My CW380 has been a work in progress as far as reliability; but is the softest shooting/most accurate .380...
My CW380 has almost no recoil on it and it's like shooting a .22 compared to my LCP. I only try to grip it firmly so I don't limp wrist it!
Bump for update in post #58 (sorry don't know how to bump a post I edited)!
I actually sent it back already a week ago for it's third trip home. They returned it to me and the Service work sheet said that they reworked the slide and replaced the recoil springs and extractor....
I know your frustration all too well. One of my problems when I first was having FTF issues was a rather large burr on the inside of the slide. All they did to fix the burr was to file it down which...
The melt job looks awesome!
As for a front night sight I replaced my factory sight on my CM9 with one from Dawson Precision after I got my slide back from getting Cerakoted. Very happy with it!
I removed my front sight as I was installing a new night sight anyway. The rear sight they removed before coating and re-installed after the coating process was completed.
I bought a CM9 and wanted a black slide but wasn't paying the premium for a PM9.
I ended up getting the CM9 slide Cerakoted black for $75.
I know you said you returned your CW380 due to reoccurring issues and picked up a G42.
Did you consider the CM9 which is smaller than the G42 in I believe all dimensions? Just curious.
Hit the range today again and didn't have any better luck. This was after a full cleaning and putting in a new recoil spring.
I had three light strikes/clicks and no fire on 3 rounds (one was the...
Thanks; it looks like another thing to look at to see if that might be causing an issue. I have access to machine tools at work.
I haven't stripped the pistol down that far yet; but might do that...
I don't have any issues with the bullets in the magazine from what I can tell.
I have (3) factory 6 rd. magazines from day one that I've used and I have 900 rds. through the pistol. Kahr has...
Is the factory recoil spring my only option?
I e-mailed Kahr and they said to RMA it again if I continue to have the light primer strikes.
Today I went back to the range after doing the pencil test (which it passed) and cleaning the pistol as I normally do.
I shot 50 rounds of Hornaday CD and I had one click/no boom on round #26 with...
My LCP sounds just like everyone else's. It will feed anything and it's easy to place anywhere. And of course the trigger is snappy and it stings to shoot.
However; it's a SHTF pistol and I have...
I'll try the pencil test now that I know what that is and see if it passes.
The failures were (2) of the Precision One Hornaday XTP HP, 90 gr. Both failtures were the third round on my #2...
Should I just replace my striker with a new one while I have it all apart? I have about 700 rounds through it as of now.
