Looks like a blemish. If it bothers you, you can try contacting Kahr's warranty department. It might not be worth it, IMO, but I get wanting better QC from manufacturers.

I tried to fit my Lakeline magazine sleeve for my 9mm onto my 40. It wasn't wide enough. The difference is tiny, though.

My PM45 is dimensionally very similar to my K9 (old version). I'm very happy with that size.
