The end was wrapped up under the locking lug sticking into the slide lock lever slot.
No damage to frame thank goodness.

Trigger does reset.
Slide moves all the way back, and all the way forward. Something is catching inside, it stops at the normal forward position and will not continue forward.
I've gone so far as to tap it with a brass hammer, relatively hard, with the trigger pulled. The slide is even with the frame. I might be shipping this thing out to the mother ship...

I've had this thing apart and together a hundred times and the last time i must have swapped the spring.
I'll keep fiddling with...
