50AE, 440 COR-BON, 44 MAG, all by changing barrel & appropriate magazine
Seems to me that if you can lock the slide back by pushing up the slide lock by hand, your ammo
isn't hot enough to get the slide back far enough by shooting it!
Think those are only on the California models
What brand of bullet are you using? Don't think I've ever saw any 400 grain jacketed 50 caliber bullets!
H & K has never been interested in selling guns to the public, unless they
have suddenly changed their policy* That's one reason I won't buy any of
their firearms* They said in the past that they...
Thanks for the tip, Bawanna! I'll give it a try!
I have a matt silver Desert Eagle in 50AE* I have Weaver high mount
rings on it, in black* I tried some silver paint, from Walmart, that had
primer built in to the formula* The handgun scope I...
I think it's a helluva good idea! The 44 magnum bullet diameter is only 429, while the 45 bullet
diameter is 454! It would be a good round for the Eagle* Bigger bullet, and lot's more weight...
I've used Magnum Research Desert Eagle scope mounts before, and it seems
it's almost impossible to keep the two roll pins that help hold the mount on the
barrel, in place* They always seem to work...
I had a 440 Corbon barrel for mine, a few years back, and everyone says the 440 was
a lot hotter than the 429! I NEVER got velocities like that in my 440, and I loaded them
HOT!
Are the 44 magazines factory? Or some kind of after-market brand?
I shoot IHMSA silhouette, and I can't find any 139 or 140 grain 7mm bullets,
so does anyone know what's going on with these 2 weights of bullets?
I'm married, but no way in hell is she gonna try to catch that brass! :D My kids are all grown, so no help there. I'm going back to the big blue tarp.
I just don't understand the attraction of buying a worn out pistol. History? Sure, they have history, but so doe's a rock you find on the ground. Heck, it's probably been around for 4.5 BILLION...
I bought one of the Caldwell brass catchers, and it performed with mixed results. It is the one that you can put on the bench beside you, or mount it to a camera tripod. I tried the tripod angle,...

Glad you got it figured out. You are gonna love that gun. They are lots of fun.
Have you tried retracting the slide without the magazine in the pistol? I can't believe a gun shop would sell you a gun with problems. Can you disassemble the gun?
I have Williams Firesights on my .50AE, but the front sight they provided was too short. I had to order a front sight from Dawson Precision. It is a fiber optic, too. It's been my experience with...
If you are looking for loading data, you might research data for the .440 Cor-bon. I had a 10" barrel for mine, and I made cases by running .50AE cases into .440 full length die. The cartridges are...
Well, good luck with your sight, I put a Tru-glow red dot on my .50AE, and it lasted all of THREE shots before disintegrating before my eyes! That's why I went with a Bushnell 2x scope. Hundreds of...
I bought my Smith & Wesson .500 magnum in 2005. I bought a box of Corbon 440 grain ammo, the 1650 fps loads. A box of TWELVE rounds cost me $36.00! Thats THREE DOLLARS per round! I sent off for a...
I wonder why Kahr doesnt just chamber the Desert Eagle for .357AMP? It's easily a 50psi cartridge, and would make a really flat shooting cartridge for the Eagle. I had an original Automag in that...
I shot one of those Hellcats yesterday at the range. Fellow shooting next to me and my buddy, came over from his position and asked us if we wanted to try it. Hail yes, I said! The little red dot...
