I bought a SS guide rod from Kahr for my MK40 Elite just to replace plastic with stainless.
Didn't like the cap having to be attached to the rod...
Ended up with a Wolff black steel RSA that I like...

Not crazy about BS by the inch.
Truth is all barrels are unique.
There have been many cases of shorter barrels running faster that longer ones through a chronograph.

Back in the day there was mostly just 9mm and 45 ACP.
That along with no High Tech ammo made my choice easy (45 ACP).
Even if it didn't expand it's still 45...
Then came 40 S&W followed by 357...

Parents lived in CA and wanted to downsize.
I showed them a video of Sun City AZ (I live in Phoenix).
They bought a house with a golf course for a backyard in Sun City West about a month later!...

IMHO the polymer guns are better for pocket carry.
All steel guns are a bit heavy for me.
My MK40 Elite works well for belt or ankle carry.
But if I had it to do all over again?
