Yes it was, the frame under the grips had a lot of rust, too.
Thank you for the video link. Gun is back. Looks factory new. I'll switch up my oil for sure.
Kahr has returned my K9 to my FFL and I will pick it up tomorrow. They refinished it and said that whatever product I used on it had to be blasted off. They mean Renaissance Wax. Every gun site I...
I have never carried this pistol except at the range maybe 5 or 6 times. My FFL asked me if I carry it tight to my body. Nope. I'm keeping a positive view. I am sure it will be fine after a trip...
I spray everything down with a can of Remoil then wipe with a cloth. Yes, we have some humidity here but none of my other SS handguns are rusting like this after a trip to the range.
I always spray my firearms down with oil after handling. This one still rusts out despite my restoration efforts. My FFL is sending it out for me tomorrow and will call Kahr. He said they are...
After tending to my initial rust issues I thought I had solved the problem. Not so much. Slide serrations are all rusted. There is significant rust all over the slide and on the grip. Called my...
Satin finish. Your pictures probably suffer from poor lighting.
That looks similar to my sof tuck. I may have to look into the Infidel Max at some point. Buying an M1A Scout this month. Something else to feed at the range.
Interesting. My local GM charges full retail for firearms and ammo. But their customer service is good and they stock a complete line of SD and target ammo. I wonder if prices are dictated by the...
Sorry for the very late reply. I went back to the stock plastic followers and it performs perfectly now. The metal ones not so much.
Here's the deal. I went to the range again and all 3 magazines were acting up. Premature slide lock about 30 percent of the time. I was able to verify that the bullets are indeed contacting the...
You know what Ed, that my friend is a very good idea.
Well, after handling, range time, dry firing, etc. No rust spots. Renaissance Wax gets a thumbs up.
It is definitely not my thumb. I contacted Al from Lakeland and we believe the bullet itself is contacting the slide lock while being chambered. The crazy thing is, it was always the second to last...
I finally had a chance to try out the Lakeland followers and the slide would lock open on every magazine with one round left. Eventually the two 7 round magazines started performing correctly, but...
My K9 suffered the same problem. I used a product called Innosoft B570 to remove the rust and then just tonight applied Renaissance Wax to protect against further corrosion.
All of the new k's have the elite trigger. Been that way for a while, so I read. But it matters not, 1/8 inch is hardly noticeable on this firearm.
The surface rust spots on the exterior for the most part did not return. However the frame under the grip panels did see some of the rust that I had cleaned off earlier return. So I cleaned again...
Easy. Took me about 2 minutes to install the first one, and I was worried it would be difficult to compress the spring. It wasn't bad at all.
This product, Innosoft B570, is working great. It is cleaning all of the rust spots from my gun and it doesn't harm the metal at all. I cleaned the spots under the grips today.
I let my gun rest in the holster overnight. It has molded nicely. It appears to be very similar to the holsterama above, but it uses a single metal clip instead of the dual leathers. Both I...
How about this?

I pulled the grips off and also have what appears to be pitting, orange spots beneath them. I'll try the naval on a small area under the grips first to see what happens.
