IMO 100% reliability on an SD gun overrides anything else. If the second round won't chamber it's a club. Fancy sights (on an 7yd SD gun?), designer ammo, etc. have no place (again IMO) on an SD gun.

I use NC brake cleaner and CLP on my MK9 CCW. CLP on the rails is fine for a CCW gun IMO. For heavy use on competition rifles and handguns I use Mobile 1 sythetic grease on the rails.

I reload for .308, .223, & .45. I have personally found that I don't get any return on reloading 9mm. for general shooting.

The recoil on my MK9 is just slightly more than my Glock 17. I would bet there is someone or somwhere near you where you could shoot one.
