So here are the grips at their final home. The grip bushings have been in place close to 30 years. The bottom one's came right out, top one's required pliers. A little frustration getting those out....
AJBert, I think we are both right. Lack of practice.
So...to keep my hand from hurting, I need to practice more, which cost more for ammo.
Should I start a go-fund-me to alleviate my hand soreness?...
So as I posted in another thread. I shot 100 rounds at a local range, 50 rounds of 180 grn .40 hollow points (not +p), and 50 rounds of 158 grn .357 Magnums.
The next day, the web of my strong side...

ArmyBrat, that is a good one.^^^^
If you have a manual safety, you have to train, train, train. I have been carrying a 1911 so long. I miss the safety when carrying something else.
Took my dog Charley Poodle to the groomer on...

I don't have to see them first, you can just post them here.
Some folks do put Loktite on the bushings. Hitting them with a Hair Dryer helps.
Some replacement bushing vendors, recommend using...
So....just curious, has anyone ever seen a Kahr, T or K model with a checkered front strap? I have not. I have skate board tap on all of mine. Which works pretty good.
Is it a price thing? Such...
It is going to be hard to enforce. Supposedly if you sell for a profit, you need a license. How do they know what I paid? It is a BS rule.
No lock S&W revolvers are going for premium prices these...
I have always been a solid trigger fan.
The typical trigger pull on a 1911 is almost always decent, even the budget ones. Why would you need to lighten the weight of the trigger?
Part of the...
I often see older gentlemen, out with metal detectors. I thought they were looking for loose change, never thought about lost firearms. Hmm....wonder how much a metal detector cost?
Checker the front strap, and install a solid trigger.
I could go for a '62 model, right now. '62 was the first year for the 260-V8
Been carrying the K40 for a couple of days now, in a Lou Alessi pancake holster. On paper the K40 is lighter, but feels heavier.
Might be that the holster, belt slots, are a little closer together....
It is a cira 1990's , don't remember the exact date, Ed Brown Executive Elite(I don't think they offer them anymore, luckily the serial number is blurred a bit, but it only has 4 digits.). Still,...
Currently sporting WC Starbursts standard thickness, thinking Ironwood, would look nice. As you can see the bluing is all gone. Had this pistol for almost 30 years now. My wife almost divorced me...
This year for the first time in almost forever, I am gong to switch from my 1911 CCO, to a K40. The K40 is slightly lighter, and smaller. Conceals a wee bit better under a T shirt. Not giving up a...
