I'm not interested in the price. I want a flush fit, metal base magazine.
Don't get me wrong. The more I shoot my P9, the more I like it. Once I get 100% confident with it (me using it, not the gun per se) I think it will go to the top of my EDC list.
It's just hard...
I added this Hogue sleeve. It gives just a little bit of welcome girth to the grip and has the side benefit of covering the ugly serial # plate! The more I shoot it, the more I'm liking this little...
Now that I can post pictures, I'll illustrate what shoddy design is.
Even with a flush-to-the-mag metal base plate put on, this P9 mag would have a very noticeable overhang and this (IMO) shows a...
Does anyone have a Star BM 9mm who could measure the mag for me? Thanks!
Heck, on these 1911 Officer's mags, they were considerably thicker than the opening in the P9 grip magwell. Couldn't even get to the point of mag catch mattering.
Not knowing any better and figuring that a 1911 Officers .45 mag fits a P45, I ordered a 1911 Officers 9mm mag for my new P9.
WRONG!
It is much thicker and does not come close to fitting in mag...
Here's my new P9 with Hogue sleeve covering the offending serial number plate AND putting a very slight bit of welcome girth to the grip!

Kimber Officer's mag, as I altered it, worked fine today as a 6 rounder. Next step I guess, is to mess with the spring and see if I can get 7 rounds in, although that might not be possible using the...
Thank you very much for the response & input. I guess I'll call Kahr next year and ask.
My brand new P9 feels like it has about a 1/8" to 3/16" longer pull before release than the P45 I've had...
Nobody else shooting both guns who can offer any input as to their perception of trigger difference?
OK, the Kimber Officer's Mag arrived today.
I slightly enlarged the top of the mag catch slot until the mag stayed in place.
I then slightly reduced the sides of the top of the mag until the...
If your timeline is correct, then my 2006 P45 & new P9 should have the same trigger pull distance, correct? I don't see how "breaking in" will change that, but I'll not worry about it for another...
I've been having luck with a Chip McCormick Custom Officer's mag using the Kahr follower in my P45. While it does lessen the overhang of the Kahr Plastic Pinkie mag plate, it, unfortunately, will...
Thanks!
I found this older thread while looking for info on Kahr trigger differences. I have a P45 which I bought new shortly after they came out back in 2006. I like it a lot and just a few weeks ago...
I said "shoddy design", not "shoddy workmanship". Totally different point of criticism... I use bumpers on my 1911 mags I shoot in competition. That makes sense. I am just of the opinion that a...
Not only an Ace Hardware, but an Ace Hardware in California!! (Of course, far Northern CA is nothing like the Bay Area or LA area).
Granted I bought my P45 over 15 years ago and it's had a lot more rounds through it than my brand new P9, but in shooting them back to back this morning I was surprised and curious about how much...
Score! Found a new in box P9 7 round mag in close out at the local Ace Hardware for $11.99. Clerk (who is one of my fellow range masters) says he'll let me know when they close out the 3 or 4...
Does anyone know if the Kahr MK720 mag (as listed on Kahr website extended mag for PM9) is actually the same length (measured along the metal backside) as the stock 7 round K820 (as listed on Kahr...
Back 30 years ago or so, when I got my first permit in this County, you simply qualified with the largest caliber on your permit. Then you listed the guns you wanted up to 5 or 6 and the Sheriff...
I'm taking 3 handguns which I'm going to add onto my CCW to the range tomorrow. In my CA County you have to list the specific weapons you qualified with on your permit. Since I got my permit, the...
P.S. Side note - Primary range action today was steel plate practice with my shooting pals using my Glock 19. After a mid session break & shooting the P9 some, then returning to the Glock, I...
It goes bang when I want it to. Makes holes in the direction I aim it. Shoots multiple shots on multiple steel plates without a hiccup. Even shoots a few lead reloads during the breakin period...
