Where to buy (or avoid buying) a cm9

I'm pretty new to Kahrs, but I really want to get a cm9. Is there anything I should know to avoid or be conscious of before buying one? Are there older models with known problems or certain sites that are unreliable? What can I reasonably expect to pay for new or used? Thanks.

CM9 is a new model and I have not heard of any "bad runs" or version issues like the P380s had. AFAIK, a CM9 is a CM9 is a CM9, and it won't really matter where you get it, as long as you play it safe and get it NEW at a well established LGS or website (BudsGunShop, CheaperThanDirt, etc).

Some people have had issues with theirs, of course - there are always some bad units, but overall it's a good model. Just make sure you prep it properly before going to the range (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1521) and you'll be all smiles.

Thanks, sounds like I cant go wrong. I noticed many sites are out of stock in the 7 round mags. I found a deal for one for 420 shipped (plus FFL) including an extra 7 round mag. This seems like a good deal to me, thoughts?

Stay away from the 7-round magazines! Many folks reporting issues with those in the CM9 (myself included).
But, Kahr will happily replace your 7-round magazine with a 6-rounder if it doesn't work well for you. You just have to contact them and ask for a 6-rounder instead.

There is some speculation that the 7rd magazine gets shifted by your finger pressure on it, causing the failures. Whatever the reason, they seem prone to nose dives.

I'll second this. My two 7 round mags were nothing but trouble. I finally got them working right, but it took a lot of sanding on the follower. Some here have 7 rounders that work fine, but it seems from what I've read that the most problems are with the 7's.

U might be able to find one a little cheaper. I got mine from cheaper theen dirt for 378 shipped. Awesome gun btw! I love mine!

Based on my experience I would go with a reputable local gun shop. Men saved my but with my cm9 issues.
