    Default Perfect ccw remedy.

I noticed that when I carried my cw9 the black magazine baseplate really stood out.

So to remedy that I ordered a metal baseplate from the pm9 and gotta say it is one of the best and most cost effective purchases i've made.

Never use your gun to pistol whip someone, that could mar the finish.

I, too, prefer the metal baseplate on my CW9

I'd like to do the same for my CW45, but the PM45 baseplate is the same bulky plastic job.

    Dunno why Kahr does that.

Even the PM40 has the flat metal baseplate.

    Weird.

As an alternative, I've been very pleased with modified Officer's/Compact 1911 magazines in my CW45.

Is that the same as the Colt Defender 6 round .45, and did you have to modify it?

Yes, that's the same size. I've modified the mags I use as per this thread:

kahrbw9 nice work. I've been trying to figure out options for the mag plates too since I just got my CW9. And after joining KahrTalk, I can see now that there is a long history concerning this. To me, the metal plate looks better than the plastic. Then others think the plastic looks better than the stainless. I decided I want to machine my own base plate out of aluminum (since I have access to a CNC), and make the plate match the frame better. I'll post some photos when/if I have something to be proud of.
There is a little discussion about base plates here... http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=11927

P.S. Greg, I gotta say... those are sweet photos! Very nice quality.

I think that the three of us should get together and form the ILMMBP organization. I love my metal base plate, too.
