Aside from the utilitarian Kahr CM-9 I carry daily, and sleep next to on the night stand, I think they are all purchased based on "cool factor". Why should this be any different?

Not yet but I intend to first chance I get.

Dietrich: For a fat girl you sure don't sweat much.

The guy who posted the video indicates that the Thompson is a stock 1927a1 pistol. Those pistols are made with an alloy frame and receiver, so they are a bit lighter (5.5 lbs I think) which should make bumpfireing easier.
I plan on trying it with my Thompson as soon as I can arrange to get to a location that allows such.
There are other videos on YouTube that show the rifle version being bumpfired, just search for "thompson bumpfire".

Thanks! Sound isn't working in my computer, so I couldn't hear what they said.
Very interesting...
Interesting fact on the mod'd mags. Several surplus ones I have click right into place without mods on my Tommy. The only one that wouldn't was one of the ones that came with it from the factory!

If you go the non detachable route, Dan Block stocks are a nice upgrade to the give the Model 1927A1 the Model 1928 look. Dan did the Stocks for the movie "Public Enemies"
