hm, looks like about $1575 for one with a 30 rd stick and a 50 rd drum, w/detachable from bud's. I'm gonna see if my dealer can meet or beat it

I have the 1927a1 with the detachable stock. I almost purchased the version with the fixed stock with the idea of converting it to detachable. There is a kit available that makes this rather easy, but you either have to settle for a not quite right look or you need to reprofile the frame. By the time you pay for the kit and the mill work to reprofile, you end up with a higher cost than the price of the detachable stock version.

Here are a couple of photos.

So far, I have 200 rounds through the gun with no problems at all. I have the 30 round stick and the 50 round drum that it came with and 5 20 round sticks purchased from At The Front. I will be altering the mag catch to work with the 20 rounders.

Yep, that's the one. I've decided that's it. If I get non-detachable, I'll jsut never be happy. thanks for posting it. It's gorgeous!

I have fantasized for decades (literally) about owning an actual"Tommy gun, but other than then cool factor is there any real reason for buying a non-class 3 semi-auto version?

I could really imagine having one of these sitting next to me right now, but still...

It's strange - Kahr is a brand that is really just about self-defense, and then they own this product which is a total opposite.

No criticism here at all - I admit to be really conflicted on this one.

I too longed for a Tommy Gun far back as I can remember. I couldn't believe it when I finally managed to nail one to call my own.

Nothing beats the cool factor of a Tommy. I'd love it even more if I could have the 10" barrel like the real McCoy but I like it none the less.

I rarely even shoot it but I'll tell ya what with the 50 round drum and you can get 100's if you got enough loot, it would be force to be reckoned with.

I'm really at a disadvantage being in a wheelchair as it's a heavy beast but get in a fixed position and you can shoot a long time.

AJBert, I'm gonna write your name down out on my bench. I want to get a few unaltered's and make sure they work before I part with the modified mags.
Right now if need be I could put the original mag release back in and use them. Once I get some more I'll fix you up.

You may want to have a look here, here, and here. A bit like Western Action Shooting, but set in the '20's through '40's and cops and robbers rather than cowboys.

Other than this, they are just plain fun. If you really want to unload one in a hurry, you may want to give "bumpfireing" a try.
