Angry gave cw9 a pretty decent wack

I was practicing transitions between the AR and the Kahr at my home. On one of them I pulled the kahr out a little too fast and hit the stock of the AR hard enough to take a chunk out of it(the stock). from where the plastic shavings were it is clear that i hit the stock with the rear of the slide very near to the rear sight.

I am concerned that i knocked the rear sight out of position, i plan on going to the range as soon as possible to check but my question is ..

How hard is it to move that rear sight? i never had to move it because it was perfect when i purchased the gun.

if i did mess it up and have to readjust how hard is it to fine tune? to me it seems like once i get it to move it will shift a lot more than i intended.

    thanks in advance

I doubt you moved it. If it still appears centered it's probably ok.

They can be a real bugger to move, sometimes not so bad but generally tight.

If you did, you jus need to secure it in a padded vise and use a punch to tap it back. Or find a smith with a sight pusher that would fit it.

I'd not worry till you confirm you got something to worry about.

I moved mine a little because it wasn't quite right when I got it. It's tight. Tight enough that I doubt hitting the plastic stock of an AR would move it even if it hit the sight directly. But if you do have to move it, I would suggest grinding a screwdriver tip to fit the sight rather than using a round punch. You're going to have to hit it pretty hard, and you don't want to leave marks.

Talk to my wife, she's good at hitting but not leaving marks.
