Default .22 LR - Compact and Accurate - Suggestions

I'm looking to add a .22 LR to the SHTF armory. I want something very simple, semi-auto, reliable and accurate. Planning to buy a boatload of ammo. This will be my last resort rifle. If I don't kill the attacker, I can at least pi$$ them off and make them bleed before I go down. I have a bolt action already to club them in the head.

    Suggestions on a good one?

Rifle--Marlin 60 or Ruger 10/22 , absolutely reliable and perhaps the most accurate .22LR autos out there, available in many configurations. and is priced right. For at tactical type 22 have a look at S&W M&P15-22 or Mossberg 715T are fine rifles.
Pistol--Ruger MarkII or Browning Buckmark for autos. S&W K-17 for revolver that is pricey but excellent. Ruger makes and SP101-22 revolver that is nice also.

    Ruger 10/22.
    Super reliable and deadly accurate.
Personally preferred CCI Stingers in the gun.

I have been looking at the Henry US Survival Rifle (formal name: U.S. Survival AR-7). It is only 16.5" when stowed and weighs 3.5 lbs.

Cute, small, stowable and fairly inexpensive, but accurate and reliable is not how I'd describe the AR7.

The HK 522 and 416-22, made by Walther, are getting very good reviews in both reliability and accuracy. More money but high quality.

The new break-down Ruger 10/22 may be a good choice.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

I like the S&W 15 22 I just got my son. Shot about 1k rounds through it, with just a couple of duds, but that was the golden bullets, not the guns fault.

M&P 15-22 and Ruger 10/22 are both good choices. I use the M&P for cheap training on an AR style platform. Both guns love the blue Federal bulk packs.
