    Default 9mm 1911

    Can't help wishful thinking.

Would sure like to see Kahr market a 9mm on a mid-sized (4" bushingless bull barrel) 1911 frame for a competitive price. Personally, a plain-Jane frame would suit me.

    Again, can't help wishful thinking.

Until this happens, I'll simply continue to enjoy my Springfield Armory EMP:

I love my 9mm 1911 - but as you can see, its just a range toy. Pretty large...

Both of those are quite purty! I have a couple of 1911's A Commander and Government model. Both by Colt. They both shoot just fine. The government model has had minor (very minor) work done to it. The Commander is my carry gun (when I am wearing the right clothes). I really like that Commander sized 1911.

I would second that motion. From my experience of their quality firearms, I would be one of the first in line to buy one.

lunde, how do you like that EMP? I was looking at one last week, it was the first 1911 I've ever looked at that I liked, much smaller that a full size one. The only thing on my my wish list is I would like to see a black slide.

I like it a lot. At first, I didn't like the smooth front strap, but appropriate grips take care of that. I no longer feel the need for checkering there. The one complaint I have, and which is no longer an issue thanks to a trip back to Springfield Armory, is the ambidextrous safety. I know why they include it, but for those who do not need it, it serves as an unnecessary protrusion on an otherwise slim pistol.

I agree with that. I have never really liked ambis due to the added width. I always have them removed unless the maker supplied them with a fairly narrow shelf. Great pictures as always! I need to get my TRP to the range, it has been a while.

    Take care,
