    Hi all,

New to the forum (which is great btw)... bought a stainless K9 on gunbroker.com earlier this month from a 'stellar rep' seller... BUT I'm unsure if I got what I paid for- the stainless matte K9 was described in the auction as a '2015 model' with an Elite trigger and 320 rounds through it so far and in 'like new' condition, which it certainly appears to be. It arrived in a factory box, all mags and included accessories accounted for. A NIB Crimson Trace came with the K9 for a total of $560.00. Haven't shot it yet. Tad of slide play when empty which I assume is fine, the trigger however seems to be considerably heaver than 5.5 or so pounds, although the pull is as you all have described- smooth, no stack and long. K9093A, S/N BF4012. I'd like to find out how to 'date' the gun and how to identify the trigger as Elite or not before I give the seller any feedback, etc. Any ideas guys? TIA!

CRH welcome to the forum, hang out with us and enjoy the ride. An email to Kahr customer service will get you the date of manufacture (month/year) in short order. I have not had many question to ask of them, but I have always received a nicely worded response in short order.

As an example, I asked about the SN ranges for the early carbon steel K9/E9 as I am seeking one as a project gun and was (losing a )bidding war on an AExxxx SN gun. In about four days I received this:

    Hello,

Thank you for purchasing a Kahr Arms/Auto Ordnance product. Our engineers
have informed me that all K9's with a serial number within the following
groups were manufactured from Carbon Steel, ABxxxx, ACxxxx, ADxxxx, AExxxx,
ASxxxx, BAxxxx. Yours falls into this grouping. E9's with a serial number
within the following groups, AMxxxx, AWxxxx, were manufactured from Carbon
Steel, and E9's with carbon steel frame and stainless slide, BCxxxx.

    Thanks,

    Kahr Arms/Auto Ordnance

Very complete answer sent along pretty quickly. Don't be shy in asking Kahr and feel free to let us know what you find.
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
    "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
    "more stuff than you are"
    God Bless our Troups!

Thanks, planedude- great advice... sent an email to Kahr this evening. Glad to hear about your positive experience... I have a feeling the Detonics Combat Master Mark VI that I carry now and have every day for many years (I love that damn thing as much as my old Browning P35) will be replaced for EDC soon by the K9... the K9 reminds me of the DCM in its solidity, wonderful handling and high quality... 9mm +P ammo has come a *long* way in the last 10 years, which makes the changeover to that beautiful K9 rational if not still difficult.

Will report back once I get Kahr's reply!

If you don't have the collected "fired" case... and its original envelope, you can only guess.
