Adm. Nimitz diary from Pearl Harbor until the end of the war. I haven't read it yet but plan on doing so. This is basically day to day account, through his thinking, of the information he received and what he planned. I can't wait to get started on it.

Thanks for posting. It was an honor to serve on board USS NIMITZ (CVN-68) 1994-1995. One of the spaces is a small museum of a few of ADM Nimitz' memorabilia. We owe him a lot.

I also served on the USS Nimitz from 1983-1987. Great crew, and from what I know about him he was a superb leader of men. We need a few more like him, especially in D.C.

If any of you ever make down to Central Texas, be sure and drive over to the old German town of Fredericksburg to visit this fine museum:

It started out as the Nimitz family hotel museum, but greatly expanded.

It will take up most of a day to tour the place. It is also noted for having on display the Japanese mini-sub that was captured at Pearl Harbor.

This is the Nimitz Hotel Museum on Main Street (The Pacific War Museum is on the block behind it):

A few months ago while traveling through TX (a Great State) we visited the Pacific War Museum and it was TOP NOTCH. We spent two days in the museum and still didn't see everything (we like to read everything).
