Some of the paint has come off the rear site of my CM9, I am wondering the best way to restore it.
I'm also wondering if using the brake cleaner in the striker channel messed with the paint. I think a little bit of cleaner did get on the sights.

I used white GunKote on mine. Still there!
. Hopps #9 willdo the same thing. I retouch mine with finnernail polish . Gotta watch any gun cleaner or cleaner for p[ainted surfaces should be avoided. I messed uyp a nice set of Herretts grips off myt Model 60 one day, as I got some Hoppe#9 on them and bingo off went the finish . Had it not been for the colonel here who redone those grips, I would have been pissed.
We learn from our mistakes.
. My PM9 has over 40,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I guess next time I'll put some masking tape over the sights.
I taped mine off and sprayed it with white automotive paint that I had in the garage. Still holding up after a couple of years.
I use Testors bright white and a toothpick. I use Hoppes for cleaning.............I just make sure it doesn't get on the sights, and it really shouldn't.
