    I just traded for a new 1911 from ATI, an older milsurp I never shoot anymore and $100, Pick it up off layaway next week:

    Tried to get you some Koa wood blanks while we were in Hawaii, but couldn't find any worth grabbing.

    Picked it up today, took it home and stripped and cleaned it. It is well finished and already feels just right as far as tightness goes. it is as well built as a Colt 1991 I had several years ago.

    The grips actually look pretty nice in that picture. Looks good.

    I got a wide spur hammer from Kahr today that I shall attempt to install this weekend good lord willing and the creek don't rise.

    The grips have a nice color and decent grain. I may try to stain them a little redder for an old style color.
