    Default CM9 magazine loose play?

When I insert a loaded mag into my CM9 with the slide locked back there is a lot of loose up and down play in the mag. The mag just feels loose. I posted pictures of it below to show how much play there is. It seems to chamber a round fine and I can hand cycle snap caps okay. There's no loose play if the the inserted mag is empty and there's no loose play if the slide is not locked back.

I have about 600 rounds through the CM9 and I do not remember this loose play being there. Is yours like this??? I'm going to go to the range tomorrow evening to see if it functions fine.

My MK has about a sixteenth of an inch play with the mag inserted on an open slide. I wouldn't lose much sleep over it, after all, as you shoot a firearm more and more, all sorts of things get loosened up. CHOOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking at your barrel though

The barrel needs a good polishing. It seems to get beat up. I polished the hood nicely but need to do the rest.

Oh, and there's a little bit of play in my mags too. I wouldn't worry about it.

When the mag is inserted the mag catch goes into the cutout in the mag. The slot in the mag is slightly larger than the mag catch so it can shoot in the slot. With the slide open there is no downward pressure on either the follower (empty mag) or the first round. This is my observation from my unmechanically inclined self.

The condition you describe is perfectly normal. How often do you carry your gun with the slide locked back? How would the mags drop free if there wasn't some play? Some people worry about the damnedest things.

Thanks guys - I appreciate the responses and am glad to know it's normal. Funny that I hadn't noticed it before.

As expected, 55 flawless rounds at the range today.

    A couple of pics below:
    1. o-ring in the mag gap to prevent that pinky pinch
    2. 6 rounds at 5 yards (the holes in the cardboard were already there)
