    Default A very expensive K9

This is not my auction but I spotted it while browsing.
It's definitely unique but I don't know if it's $1800 unique. A lot of really cool guns can be purchased for that amount of money.

Saw this on another forum. How this was priced out is beyond me. A $300 gun with $1500 in improvements?
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

I guess it's possible. Cylinder & Slide charges $1340 for their top-of-the-line Kahr custom package (gun not included, or even return shipping). I won't be buying that either.

I'd fork over some extra dough for a 1911 personally carried by John Browning but I'd never heard of Ned Christiansen before seeing that auction. After a bit of research I still wasn't bidding.

That Blem on PIC 26/27 was where "Ned Christiansen actually ran out of toilet tissue and used his Kahr, hence the high value of this particular piece"
Who the hell is Ned Christiansen, anyway?

    Funny

This is a well used $300 gun. Nothing more IMHO.

Now if it had been owned and shot by Bawanna...hmmm

Oh I don't know, I think the checkering on the frontstrap and custom magwell add some value to it but definitely not $1500 dollars. Especially in that condition. I think the seller is putting way too much stock in the reputation (or lack thereof) of the previous owner. Apparently he's got a pretty good gunsmithing outfit in Michigan but I don't think Ned Christainsen is a household name for gun owners.

The seller should have at least thrown some new grips and a new front sight on there. That would have gone a long way to improving the gun's appearance. That front sight looks bubba'ed, not like something a professional gunsmith would have done.

It looks to be an abused gun. $300 would be highway robbery.

It looks like a pretty well carried firearm. There looks to be a lot of wear on the frame and the slide looking at the picture. Nothing special in my opinion, just another person over pricing their firearms.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
