I just got their last two boxes of Federal Aluminum-cased 115-gr 9mm FMJ for $9.97 each on my last visit to Walmart. I've been using Blazer aluminum-cased FMJ in 9mm, .40, and .45, and maybe even some .380, for years with no problem. If it's the cheapest, I'll use it over brass, but no steel-cased or steel projectiles for me.

The .40 S&W seemed really stout to me!

Started using Al cased stuff with the flying ashtray and Al Blazer has always worked fine for me. Brass preferred, steel cased stuff is a no go for anything other than an SKS.

IIRC, Blazer aluminum cases are not to be reloaded so I stay away from these cases since I reload. I would treat Federal aluminum the same way. OK to shoot but not to be reloaded. My old range had a short range end for newbys and shooters who just want to shoot up close. Since most of the newbys don't reload, it was rich pickings for a brass scrounger like me and I salvaged literally thousands of rounds of once fired brass there. It's a little harder for me to do the same at my current range since most of the shooters there are reloaders and they retrieve their brass but every once in a while I can score some more once fired brass.

Now that Federal and ATK are the same company, five will get you ten the Federal aluminum case stuff is just re-labeled Blazer.

yesterday i went to the range with a 9, .40 & .45, i ran brass & federal alluminum & since i don't reload there is no reason for me not to buy alluminum case ammo.
it was on mark almost exact to brass from the same distances.

I've shot both and zero issues in any of my Kahr 9's or 45's.

My CT45 functioned flawlessly with it.

No hesitation using any of the aluminum stuff.....the steel stuff is meh

I bought the CW45 a few days ago and on my first range trip ran 100 rounds of federal aluminum flawlessly! Not one hiccup. Great and cheap range ammo.
